The
first date of Kylie's 'Rhythm Of Love Tour' kicked off in show-stopping
fashion. Hair swept back, dressed in a black PVC number Kylie launched into
a spirited version of 'Step Back In Time'. "Let's get you warmed up a bit"
Kylie seductively suggested as 'Got To Be Certain' was performed with two
female dancers. A bright neon pink and green dress coupled with a camp tiara
was worn for mega-worldwide smash 'I Should Be So Lucky'. Kylie impressed
the crowd with an array of dance routines, this however didn't stop her
superb vocal performance.
The American influences on her latest album were reflected in her
performance for the Sydney audience. 'One Boy Girl' and 'Rhythm Of Love',
performed in funky baggy trousers and trainers, were all raps and latin
rhythms that had more than just a touch of Janet Jackson. A final change
into a purple velvet catsuit with glitter swirls for an encore of 'Hand On
Your Heart' and 'The Loco-Motion' lifted levels to fever pitch. The synth
intro to the highlight of her career 'Better The Devil You Know', had the
kids and the parents were stomping their feet to the rhythm.
Leaving the stage for the final
time, Kylie said her goodbyes leaving the crowd panting for more.
